About Me

I have been professionally training group and private classes for 18 years.  I specialize in reactive dogs and separation anxiety.  Though group classes have been my main focus for many years, I do a lot of private behavior modification.  I believe every dog is different and not every tool and method works for every case.  Having a full tool box and many different outlets to brainstorm with can be the key to solving a behavior issue.  I am a positive reinforcement trainer.  I have shared my home with many breeds boxers are my first love, but have had ridgebacks, border collies and a handful of mixed breeds.  I believe understanding the breed and its purpose can take you a long way in training. There is no cookie cutter methods each dog is and  individual.   I am a volunteer for Great Lakes boxer rescue and have had many fosters who needed a second chance come thru my training programs to find their forever homes.  
I compete in many dog sports, Agility is my first love.  The new sports of Nosework, Barn hunt, Rally Obedience, Speedway, Lure coursing and Fast Cat are some of our other passions.  I use these sports to build cofidence in my fearfull dogs with AMAZING results.
I believe teaching the owner to understand the dog and the training is CRUCIAL to pet parent and dog relationship.  If the owner does not understand what I am teaching it will not work.  My goal is always to simplify all training methods so the average pet parents can succeed along with the dog.  It is not about me teaching the dog it is about me teaching the pet parent.
